Autumn is a the most romantic and atmospheric season in which to get married. Autumn is filled with a wonderful palette of gorgeous rich colours, warm tones and rustic details.

Autumn is becoming a popular choice for brides and grooms, with often surprisingly warm and dry weather and beautiful sunsets. High summer weddings do not guarantee sunshine. Another benefit is to do with suppliers, they will be less busy than in July and August and you may find yourselves pleasantly surprised by their rates and availability and end up saving a significant amount of money.

Autumn wedding dresses can range from figure hugging, strapless gowns, layers of lace or designs with sleeves. Ivory and antique gold are colours that work well in autumn, with some brides even opting for burnt red.  A shrug can be the perfect accessory and as far as footwear is concerned there has been the occasional bride who has been known to slip on a pair of wellies under her dress for the outdoor shots! Check out Pinterest to find up to the moment pairs of white wellington boots.

You can really go to town with flowers and decorations to create a really romantic and rustic feel. Autumn cries out for suspended bulbs or trails of fairy lights. Creating your own interesting pieces, inspired by magazines and Pinterest is fun and stamps your personality on the day.

Autumn’s gorgeous colours of oranges, greens, ambers and reds provide plenty of inspiration for bouquets and decor. With roses, eucalyptus, cosmos and succulents being extremely popular for autumn bouquets.

I have put together a few of my images from a selection of autumn weddings.
